about

Second full release from UK rockers FULC

credits

released March 10, 2020

"massive desert wide, skyscraper high riffological prog.......flashes of brilliance... FULC are modern prog masters in the making" - 7/10 Metal Hammer July 05

"six stunning songs which manage to be beautifully melodic whilst still being amazingly heavy....keep you gripped throughout the album" - 4/5 Leeds Music Scene Jan 05

"these six tracks prove that this band is indeed one mighty force to be reckoned with, with almost half an hour's worth of truly brilliant rock music to savour" - 4/5 Black Velvet mag Apr 05

"the band use a grunge springboard to flirt with metal without falling victim to its cliche, portraying frustrated abandon through blistering riffs and expressive vocals" - Yorkshire Post, the BIG ALBUM 25/2/05

"the songs do seem at first to be a bit scruffy and shapeless but each time FULC manages to draw them together with a great chorus - or even two - and do it in such a casual way as to make it seem easy which it most definitely isn't" - 8/10 Powerplay Magazine June 05

"grungey smart songwriting" - Classic Rock Magazine June 05

"Standout track - "Wasting" - for its full on melodic metal riffage, FULC could be worth a second look" - Rock Sound magazine June 05

"the Northern metallers have unleashed a corker in 'Embrace Destroy'. They boast that much sought-after quality identity. FULC hardly pander to this week's cool" - 4/5 Ch4 Teletext Album of the Week

"While the massive, planet-size 'Wasting' may be garnering the plays on Scuzz right now, my vote goes to the infectious chorus, psychotic skyscraper solos and crunchy riffs of 'Pedestal'. A promising hint of things to come" - 4/5 Rock Midgets May 05

"fresh, exciting and powerful...this is the path that hard rock should be taking - Embrace Enjoy" - 8/10 Heathenangel .com

“Wasted”s bouncy riff and evil bass brings to mind Therapy? at their evil rock peak, as well as some of Roadrunner Records finest. The minute the UK finally recognises its own rock scene FULC will get a seat on the board." Stylus Magazine May 05

"combine epic pretensions and a strong sense of melody with the ability to rock out... If they can produce another full album showing this level of maturity then they’ll surely establish themselves as one of UK rock’s leading new bands" - 4/5 uk-fusion May 05

"throughout this mini album FULC display the real quality of their songwriting ability by putting melodies you can sing to alongside powerful metal guitar and infectious hooks" - 11/13 Room Thirteen Apr 05

"the songs simply leap out of the speakers with all the force of a hurricane.....as modern rock goes this is awesome and you have to buy this, you have to - your life won't be complete without it" - CD Services Apr 05

"Embrace.Destroy" is explosive, FULC make passion fuelled rock" - Get Rhythm mag Mar 05

"full of eager angst and catchy riffs, FULC take the emotional sentiment from early grunge , twist it for the 21st century and become a filter for Pearl Jam and all that followed with a refreshing originality" - Trashpit Magazine May 05

"the title track is a snarling rock anthem and Owesnothing is a quite sublimely beautiful 3 minute combination of sparsity and full on guitar fuelled angst if that's at all possuble" - 8/10 Atomic Duster Apr 05

"this band will be an unstoppable force this year - Embrace.Destroy is one of the finest rock records to be released in 2005" - www.welikeclubbing.co.uk 5/5 Feb 05

"they draw you in with the hooks and melodies then destroy you with raw aggression and sheer power. A rock masterclass" - www.unpeeled.co.uk

""Embrace.Destroy is a turbo charged half hour of heart stuttering rock songs and will provide FULC with the ammunition necessary to take place amongst the elite on new British bands" - 5/5 Gigs Unlimited Apr 05

"their songs really hit you hard and its so passionate - this band should be big, and they will be ! " - Rock on the Web 10/10

"a worthy rival to Biffy Clyro in the making" - Rock Feedback

"Embrace.Destroy really is that dark, and short and sweet enough to make you scream out for more" - www.contactmusic.com

"for a band who most certainly sound like they want to rock ( intelligently ) they are up there with the best of the bunch" - www.a-badge-of-friendship.co.uk 3/5

"6 great songs on one album should be commended..this really is something special" - www.gigwise.com 4/5

"a rewarding listen, first rate songwriting and ever present lyrical excellence" - 3/5 www.candyfactorylines.com

"This Leeds act are doing much for a city that has always struggled to produce decent, raucous acts" - Radio Coma

"FULCs mini album provides an impressive and impassioned array of six tracks...set against a wash of jangling guitars and ethereal background synths before rocking out in massive quantities" - Manchester Music

"there's an intelligence about the songwriting which show the band equally at home bashing out vicious riffs or calming things down for more bittersweet moments" - 3/5 Manchester Online Feb 05

"Embrace Destroy is an epic journey into the minds of rising British rock monsters FULC" - Essex on the Rise

"this young band shuffle the cards with conviction, passion and flair" - Belfast Sunday Life Apr 05

"this comes heavy on the rock but loses none of its melody in the process. It oozes with raucous energy and passion so if you like your rock hard and proud hail FULC" - Ipswich Eve Star

"these six riff sodden tracks show true belief indeed" - Rock3 Radio Mar 05

"coiling riffs, infectious grooves, colourful reflective restraint - never needing to trade the pleasant melodic heart for mere violence, just brutal bite when it's needed" - Organ Mar 05

"Embrace.Destroy really is that dark, short and sweet enough to make you scream out for more" - Subba Cultcha Apr 05

"FULC manage to pull off the hard, melodic and catchy rock thing, and they do it damn well" - Sandman mag Mar 05

"this really is something special, the release of Embrace.Destroy should be enough to catapult FULC into rock stardom" - 4/5 Gigwise Feb 05

"a tornado of drums, guitars and soaring vocals that could fill stadiums" - Phase 9 Mar 05

"riffs judder like old cars and the bass pounds out an artificial headache" - 8/10 City Life Mar 05

Embrace.Destroy is an excellent mini-album and showcases the fine talents of Duane Walker, Rik Clay, Mark Cooke and Kris Kilmore. An added bonus is that these chaps are pretty easy on the eye too! I recommend adding FULC to your collection, and I really hope to hear much more from these guys soon.- 4/5 www.optimumimpact.co.uk

"big, well constructed, semi prog rock of all spectrums - lo/hi fi, intricate to roughly hewn" - Music Dash 3.5/5 Feb 05
